Habbits - For JAIBP Banking Diploma of IBP

Well in my previous post I discussed some sources for preparation, that should be considered as the first phase in order to prepare for your IBP tests. I mean just making up your mind and warming up.

To crack this nut of IBP you have to adopt some habbits which can help you a lot....

- Regularly visiting some websites

There are some recommended websites which you should visit regularly in order to update your self with the latest news in Banking & Economy of Pakistan.

First Come www.ibp.org.pk this is indeed a very good website, (Although a poor interface with old looks). In this website regularly visit the Updates section in which you can find updates on

Economic
Banking
Islamic Banking
Financial Statements
IBP Training Calendar

Then comes State Bank of Pakistan website www.sbp.org.pk here you can find all the rules and regulations and updates regarding banking industry (A bit boring but you have to live with this)

The above two websites have too much material that is enough for you. So just keep visiting the above websites and you will get a habbit of reading different issues on these websites.

On the website of Institute of Bankers Pakistan www.ibp.org.pk also regularly visit the journals of IBP http://www.ibp.org.pk/Quarterly-Journal.asp you can also find the previous isses of this Quarterly Banking Journal Free of Cost. This Banking Journal contains so many good essays topics and issues in banking. I really love the part "Legal Decisions affecting Banking" coz this discusses real life issues and you dont get bored..... at least I am not!

Then come the e-Mentor Ship service of IBP, which is quite good if you are facing a really hard nut questions you can ask some experts here who can answer your questions.

http://www.ibp.org.pk/mentorprogram/mentorship.asp

But I dont recommend this link in some last days because in those days they have too much rush of queries and also you are not sure that when you will get the answer therefore try to use it much before time.

And in the last but not least .... stick to a good english daily newspaper for banking news and business articles. Because IBP diploma is getting tougher and tougher and they are becoming more pratical .... you have to discuss real life situations in the paper therefore get know how about them.

All the best ..... Your consistency will pay you off!!!!

IBP - JAIBP Preparation - Reading Material

After applying for JAIBP your first preference should be that how to prepare for the exams,

for this I have some tips for you:

First of all visit the website of Institute of Bankers Pakistan www.ibp.org.pk and go through the sylabus of the courses you have registered. (Current link http://www.ibp.org.pk/JAIBPSYLLABUS.htm )

Carefully read out the outline and see that which topics are familiar to you and which are not ..... obviously you have to keep in mind those which are not familiar and then concentrate on them especially. This will help you find out knowledge about those topics ,

Some big sources to get answers of your questions could be,

- IBP Website
- IBP e-Mentor Service
- Some qualified bankers around you ( Qualified is different from experienced )
Experienced can give you answers about practices in banking and Qualified can also help in the theory, laws and bookish aspects. Both are equally important.
- Books Recommended for JAIBP by IBP
- Reference Books
- Websites like www.wikipedia.org (Really helpful for basic topics)

There can be a lot more resources than these therefore don't limit your self.

I also have several e-books which can be very helpful as reference books therefore if you need those just write me, I shall try my best to send you all the relevent material.

Try these websites to download some complete e-books for preparing you JAIBP tests.
www.knowfree.net

www.esnips.com

You can find books on Banking, economics, Finance, HR, Marketing.

Get Ready for Winter 2008 !

August 30th was last date for sending admissions without the late fee. I always avoided the late fee and being a good banker and finance student one should always try to avoid such expenses.

There are certain things you should keep in your mind while applying for the papers. I am just discussing the things which are not discussed in the instructions.

Fill the form very clearly and in a legible handwriting, use CAPS where possible. Give your maximum details and never forget to retain a copy of all the documents you are sending.

Being an employee I can get Demand Drafts without any cost therefore I prefer this mode of payment. Otherwise now the IBP has also introduced the option that you can deposit the fee in MCB Bank Pakistan and also you can submit your application there.

Another reason for keeping these copies is that if you are in a Bank then usually the Banks in Pakistan have the policy that they give cash incentive to the employees who passes this JAIBP. Therefore you will need these copies in order to claim your reimbursement.

You can reimburse your exam fee, and fee of coaching classes from your bank.

And before Applying do plan what you are going to do and schedule/plan your routine for study from now. I mean this is the start of the run therefore get ready and keep moving from now onwards. And never think that its a piece of cake..... its really a hard nut if stuck !!!!

So plan from now , read the sylabus , collect the books/ reading material  and obviously read them...
